EDUCATION

Under graduate
Faculty of Basic Sciences & Humanities offers a four years degree programme in Biotechnology, wherein the students are admitted through Combined Entrance Competitive Examination conducted by the State Govt. The intake capacity of B. Tech.Biotechnology gramme is 30 .
A total of 88 credit hours courses belonging to Genetics & Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Botany and Plant Physiology and Stat, Math and Computer Application are offered to the students of B.Sc. (Ag.), B.Sc. (H.Sc), B.Tech (Ag. Engg.) and B.F.Sc degree programs.

Major Extension activities

Domesticated the mushroom production technology through training capsule on mushroom cultivation, spawn production, demonstration and display in Kishan Mela, Krishi ghosti, Villager’s site, mass media etc.

Developed a human resources pool of 610 on mushroom cultivation and thirty four on mushroom spawn production covering entrie state.

Technical guidance to trained personal resulted establishment of sawn production unit at Barauni, Hajipur and Munger financed by SIDBI & NHB (Govt. of India).

Established a networking of mushroom growers for proper technical advice, marketing and organized mushroom farming.

Learning materials on mushroom production technology was developed and distributed to the users community.
