Support to agricultural extension is carried out mainly through organization of State/district level Kisan Melas; publication of Kisan Diary; publication of leaflets/pumplets Radio/T.V. talks etc. The progress/ achievements made in these areas are as under :
(A) PUBLICATION
In many areas, low agricultural productivity is an outcome of a lack of awareness. The university publications are to make the growers well acquainted with the latest production technologies.
The University publishes every year Adhunik Kisan Diary. This dairy contains information related to agro-climatic conditions prevailing in the state including the soil structure. The packages of practices related to various crops, the cultivation of which are possible in these agro-climatic conditions are also included in the dairy.
University also publishes a monthly magazine in Hindi which is called Adhunic Kishan Patrica. It includes the relevant articles pertaining to the crop season.
In addition to this, a number of bulletins and folders on package of practices of crops, livestock production, fish culture, bee keeping, mushroom cultivation, poultry etc are also published on regular basis.
The RAU News letter is brought out quarterly to provide the latest informa6ion on activities of the colleges, research centers and KVKs.

(B) RADIO & TELEVISION TALKS
Network of Radio & Television have been harnessed to its full potential as mass approach for dissemination of technology. The progress during the year 2005-2006 is as under.

| A total of 150 Television talks were telecasted by the Doordarshan and E-T.V |
(C) KISAN MELA
The Directorate is organizing Kisan Melas at state and district levels for faster dissemination of latest technologies in the field of agriculture and allied sectors to a larger cliental group . The Directorate also participates in such events being organized at national level to project its achievements.
University organized Agri-Expo 2006 from 2nd to 5th March 2006 which is unprecedented in the history of the University where in more than 200 stalls were erected. Corporate sectors from all over the country participated in it. Business meets, scientists farmers interface and corporate sector- students interface were organized, animal show and animal health camp were organized in which more than 500 entries were registered. Horticultural show was another point of attraction of this Agri-Expo. For the first time farmer’s quiz was organized and all wining farmers and stalls were awarded prizes |
